Sydney
As a kid Sydney's biggest dream was to have a dog. At age 11 she began volunteering at the local SPCA which continued until she was 16, further fueling her dream. Finally, as an adult, she rescued her first dog, Mack (AKA Turkey-man or Hippo), a Pitbull-mix. The last 5 years of Sydney's life has been built around Mack, his needs and how to best support his behavioral quirks; he can be reactive and has a strong prey drive. Sydney learned a lot throughout the training process, which has helped her to see every pet through a new lens. Her love for dogs was a huge part in choosing a potential career path: a Veterinarian. Her vet school plans were derailed numerous times and she knew she needed to be in vet med in some capacity. This is what led Sydney to the Westbank Animal Care Hospital in 2021. This clinic is by far her favorite place she has worked for many reasons: the staff, the environment, the clients and more specifically the line of work. You can find Sydney at the reception desk, ensuring her team is treated kindly, loving on all the bully-mixes, and praising the work of our veterinarians and our technicians.
